An Unforgettable Journey Through Ireland: Castles, Cliffs, and City Charm
When I first visited Dublin a couple of years ago, I knew I wanted to come back and explore more of Ireland’s magic beyond the capital city. In May 2025, that dream came true! From the lively streets of Dublin to the stunning coastlines of Killarney, the rich food culture of Cork, and the fairytale charm of Dromoland Castle — this journey was everything I hoped for and so much more.
Here’s a glimpse into my unforgettable adventure across the Emerald Isle! 🇮🇪✨
Dublin: A Warm Irish Welcome
May 7-9, 2025
We landed in Dublin after an overnight flight, a little jet-lagged but buzzing with excitement. Our private transfer whisked us to the stylish Camden Court Hotel, where the adventure officially kicked off.
Day 1:
I met Sorintha, our fabulous Local Host, who made navigating Dublin a breeze. We jumped aboard the Dublin City Hop-On Hop-Off Tour, which was the perfect way to explore iconic spots like Trinity College, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and the Guinness Storehouse at our own pace.Day 2:
We dove straight into Irish culture with the Gaelic Games Experience — yes, I attempted hurling and Gaelic football (and yes, it’s as hard as it sounds!). Later, we visited EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, an emotional and beautifully designed tribute to Ireland’s global story. If you're planning a visit, EPIC is an absolute must-see.
Cork: Ireland’s Foodie Gem
May 9-11, 2025
After a scenic train ride through the countryside, we arrived in Cork and checked into the elegant Imperial Hotel.
Day 3:
Cass, our Cork Local Host, gave us a warm welcome and incredible local tips. We spent the afternoon exploring Cork’s lively streets and sampling delicious bites (the English Market is foodie heaven).Day 4:
On the Cork City Ramble Walking Tour, we discovered a city rich with history, street art, cozy pubs, and colorful character around every corner. Cork stole a piece of my heart!
Killarney: Pure Irish Beauty
May 11-13, 2025
A short train ride brought us to charming Killarney and the historic Arbutus Hotel.
Day 5:
Barry, our Killarney Local Host, greeted us with that famous Irish friendliness and pointed us to some hidden gems around town.Day 6:
The Ring of Kerry Tour was pure magic — think jaw-dropping coastal views, sheep traffic jams (adorable!), and colorful little villages. Every twist and turn felt like stepping into a postcard.
Dromoland Castle: A Fairy Tale Ending
May 13-14, 2025
Saving the best for last: we traveled from Killarney to the majestic Dromoland Castle, making a must-see stop at the awe-inspiring Cliffs of Moher.
Standing atop the cliffs with the wind whipping around us was a moment I’ll never forget — wild, beautiful, and completely humbling.
That night, we lived out a real-life fairytale at Dromoland Castle, complete with a decadent dinner at the Earl of Thomond Restaurant. A perfect, storybook ending to a magical Irish adventure.
