Meet Chelsea! She wants nothing more than to help make your dream getaway a reality as a Travel Consultant with Northcutt Travel! A true born and raised Bostonian, Chelsea ultimately found her way to Houston with her husband, Jesse in 2011. They now consider Houston home and settled here with their yellow lab, Balthazar! In a dream world they would pick up and move to France, which has captured both of their hearts through many extended trips over the years and has become like a second home. Chelsea has been speaking French for years and even lived in Dijon, France (yes, home of the mustard!). She says her biggest conundrum would be deciding where to live because there are just too many incredible places and too much good wine!
Yes, Chelsea loves and knows Europe and France in particular like she knows her hometown, but she has always had a passion for all travel and this passion has taken her to 25 countries in 5 continents. She feels lucky enough to have visited all 7 of the New 7 Wonders of the World, which was completed last year on her trip to Jordan to see Petra. She has seen the mirage-like beauty of the Taj Mahal, the mountains in the sky of Machu Picchu, lost her breath climbing the Great Wall of China, explored the favelas of Rio, watched the sunrise over Angkor Wat in Cambodia and Ahu Tongariki on Easter Island and the list goes on! Everything from romantic wine getaways in France (Chelsea’s personal fave!) to group trips with friends in Asia. Whether you're looking for an African Safari, wanting to check items off your bucket list like hang-gliding off a cliff in Rio or just want to snooze on the beaches of Easter Island, she’s done it and can make it happen for you!
Corsica is a uniquely gorgeous, small French island in the Mediterranean. Technically part of France, it is actually closer to the western coast of Italy. Through the centuries both France and Italy (and many other ancient empires) fought for Corsica and called it their own. Travelers can enjoy the influence of both countries from the food to the languages to the natural beauty of the coastlines! If you like hiking, lazing away on the beaches of mediterranean islands, water sports, food, wine, history and beautiful small villages, Corsica is what’s up! This is why I honeymooned there and it immediately became one of my favorite locales on Earth!
Tanzania has everything for adventurers! One of my best memories is climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, and then being rewarded with a week long luxury safari through the Serengeti. Ngorongoro crater is still one of the most magical places I’ve ever been, watching the baby zebras graze on the wildflowers in 3 million year old collapsed volcano. The trip finally ended with a weekend on Zanzibar (an island off the coast) where everyone who visits Tanzania should go! You can stay in Stone Town for more of a city vibe or relax the days away on a beach resort - or both!
This had to make the list because Machu Picchu is the single most stunningly beautiful sight I’ve ever laid my eyes on to this day. After several days of acclimating to the altitude in the funky city of Cuzco (also worth several days!), taking the train with awesome views up to Aguas Calientes, and then either bussing or hiking up to the top of Machu Picchu, the feast for the eyes is like something from another planet. Definitely worth an added second day to go back and see it again. Be warned though, upon leaving you might cry. Just saying.
